Hope Through Horses is a humanitarian initiative built on the unique and healing connection between humans, animals, and nature.
In today’s world, more and more people—especially children, elderly individuals, and disadvantaged families—live in environments where they have little opportunity to form a meaningful connection with nature and animals. The challenges of everyday life, social difficulties, and increasing mental burdens affect a growing number of people, while fewer and fewer safe community spaces exist where individuals can experience genuine attention, calmness, and acceptance.
Numerous studies and practical experiences show that interaction with animals—particularly working with horses—has a significant positive impact on people’s emotional and mental well-being. It can help reduce anxiety, strengthen self-confidence, develop empathy, and support the development of emotional balance.
This is especially important for those who are often excluded from such experiences: disadvantaged children, people living in social institutions, individuals with disabilities, or elderly people who experience loneliness. For them, spending time in a nature-based environment, meeting animals, and interacting with horses provides not only a meaningful experience but also genuine emotional support and personal development.
At the same time, many animals also find themselves in situations where they need help and a safe home. In this project, animal rescue and human support come together: a place is created where animals and people can support and heal each other.
The aim of the project is therefore to create a nature-centered community space where the relationship between horses, other rescued animals, and people offers opportunities for healing, personal growth, and the rediscovery of hope.
Currently, we operate a small riding stable in Hungary, where our team of three—riding instructors and animal caretakers—works daily with horses and visitors. Our goal is to relocate the stable to the Budapest metropolitan area, where we can reach significantly more people who can benefit from the support and experiences that interaction with animals can provide.
One of the central missions of the project is to provide free therapeutic horseback experiences for children and adults living with physical or cognitive challenges. Each week, dedicated days are reserved for welcoming families and children who, due to social or financial circumstances, would otherwise not have the opportunity to try this activity or experience the connection with horses.
During our summer riding camps, we provide the opportunity for several disadvantaged children to participate completely free of charge, allowing them to spend a week in a safe and supportive environment surrounded by nature and animals. For many children, these experiences offer not only recreation but also self-confidence, joy, and meaningful new experiences.
Another important goal is to organize visits and excursions for social institutions. We aim to provide opportunities for disadvantaged schools, children’s homes, orphanages, as well as elderly care homes and senior communities, allowing them to step away from everyday challenges and spend time in nature while interacting with animals. Interaction with animals has been shown to reduce anxiety, strengthen emotional stability, and support human connection at every stage of life.
During group programs and visits, we also provide short educational presentations and discussions about responsible animal care, animal welfare, and the importance of protecting nature and the environment. Our goal is that participants leave not only with positive experiences but also with knowledge and awareness that encourage a more responsible and respectful relationship with animals and nature.
The project also includes the introduction of equine-assisted coaching. For this purpose, I plan to complete specialized training in order to apply this method professionally. In Hungary, this type of personal development and emotional support through interaction with animals is still relatively uncommon, despite its highly effective results. In the future, these sessions will also be offered free of charge for adults in need, particularly for those who cannot access such services due to financial limitations.
An integral part of the program is the maintenance of a small animal rescue sanctuary, which is already part of my life. I currently care for rescued horses and dogs that have found a safe home with me. The project will allow this activity to expand further, enabling these animals to become part of a supportive and healing environment that helps people reconnect, grow, and restore emotional balance.

The sustainability of the stable will be ensured through a two-pillar model. One pillar focuses on humanitarian and community programs that provide free experiences and support for disadvantaged children, people with disabilities, residents of social institutions, and elderly communities.
The second pillar consists of the stable’s traditional activities, including riding lessons, trail rides, school excursions, day camps, and sport riding and competitions. Revenue generated from these activities contributes to the care of the horses, the operational costs of the facility, and the long-term sustainability of the social programs.
The goal of Hope Through Horses is to create a community space where nature, animals, and human compassion come together—a place where people and animals can support each other in healing, growth, and the rediscovery of hope.
I have been working with horses, riding education, and the management of an equestrian facility for over 11 years. During this time, I have gained extensive practical experience in horse care, riding instruction, and stable management. This experience means that the project does not start from zero, but builds on many years of practical knowledge, established operations, and an already functioning equestrian environment.
Alongside my work with horses, I also work as a biology and geography teacher, which provides a stable professional background and secures my personal livelihood. This allows me to dedicate my time and energy to developing this project and fulfilling its humanitarian mission.
The requested support is therefore primarily intended for the development and relocation of the stable, the care and maintenance of the horses, the purchase of necessary equipment, and ensuring fair salaries for the small team working within the program.
Working with horses has always been more than a profession for me. Over the years, I have witnessed how deeply animals and nature can influence people’s emotional well-being, confidence, and sense of connection. Through this project, my goal is to create a place where both animals and people can find safety, care, and the opportunity to heal and grow.
